Country Gentlemen
Possibly the best all around release from the Country Gentlemen, this album was cut in 1971 with the "second" classic configuration of the band: Charlie Waller, Doyle Lawson, Bill Emerson, and Bill Yates. The album also features Dobro work by the seminal Mike Auldridge. Many tracks which have since become bluegrass and country music classics appear here, including “Legend of the Rebel Soldier,” “Little Bessie,” “Country Roads,” and “Secret of the Waterfall.” The CD has received a major overhaul to its look, with digipak packaging, the addition of liner notes by Bluegrass historian Dick Spottswood and a faithful restoration of the cover art back to its original LP design among the many upgrades.
